I've been putting considerable effort towards painting a Warhammer 40K army. It's the Orks, so there's a large number of minis to paint, But during this whole time I keep getting Ideas for stuff to draw/paint that I haven't had the time to hash out any good sketches for. It's really frustrating, and it seems to be just another thing that is keeping me from drawing on a regular basis. If only I didn't have this stupid job, I'd have plenty of time to draw stuff and paint minis and play video games or whatever I really want to do. Money is overrated, and as it is, I don't have enough of it now anyways.

So yeah, that whole new year's resolution to do more art hasn't quiet happened like I wanted. Done a couple of drawings, not producing artwork on a regular basis like I was planning.

I'll be headed to A-kon, I plan on taking my sketch book with me, and hope to do some artwork over the weekend. we'll see how that turns out.

New Year's Resolutions

Taking a look around my DA, updated a some info and re-arranged things a bit. Some of my resolutions this year will involve DA, namely...

Do more artwork this year.

Get my website up and running.

I plan on making an art related journal entry here at least once a month, hopefully more. I have already started sketching more often, and will try posting some sketches here starting with a few a week and increasing to a sketch a day (shooting for mid-year for that kind of pace)

For now, I need to do some cleaning in my studio to be able to make real use of it, but hopefully you will be seeing more happening here.

Random Ramblings from an Artist learning something

So I installed the trial version of Painter 9.5 and have been trying it out, still figuring out a few things on it, like sometimes the brush strokes have texture, and some times there isn't. when I painted on top of shapes I didn't get the texture, but then another shape of a diferent color showed textures, then when I saved the painting as a jpg and flattened the layer my sketch was on that I scanned in and set to multiply got rid of the textures in the area that that layer took up leaving a box around it.
I don't partularly want somuch texture in my brush strokes more just around the edges.

Blah blah,

Must defeat software
Bend it to my will and make it jump through hoops for me.
